Interaction Designer with excellent prototyping skills

Want to explore new interactive technologies and how to apply them on user and business challenges? As Visualization designer, you will be part of the User Experience team within ABB Corporate Research, where you will play a key role in a skilled and engaged team of user-centered design researchers with a focus on innovation in current and future ABB businesses. Many of our projects have led to new products, publications, awards and patents. Together with Corporate Research teams worldwide, we research and develop concepts in close collaborations with ABB’s core business. This is your chance to join a truly unique journey ahead.

Your challenges
Your main mission will be to create and assess prototype concepts involving new interactive technologies based on user and business needs. You will communicate the physical, digital or service oriented designs results in a comprehensive way toward our global stakeholders through video, photo-realistic renderings or working prototypes such as 3D graphics, VR/AR experiences, user interfaces or tangibles. You will work long term with important challenges together with other research designers according to the user centered design process. You will have freedom with responsibility and be able to drive according to your interests.

Your profile
You are analytical and curious, and have a drive to propose new solutions based on user studies and new interactive technologies. Equally important are your innovative and creative skills as well as your customer focus. You are skilled in programming and visualization tools. As a true team player, you are communicative, collaborative and positive– all to contribute to our future success.

You hold a University degree in a relevant field and have at least five years’ experience. It is preferable if you have experience from the industry. You may currently work as a game designer, interaction designer, with human computer interaction or similar, preferably at a research institute, a company’s design/research unit or an innovative agency. Fluency in English is a must, written and spoken alike.
