Tech Lead / Software Tech Lead for Startup within gardening app

Gardenize is looking for a skilled and inspiring Tech Lead to join their company and to keep developing their gardening app - to grow together!

About the company

Gardenize is a growing community for all gardeners. Based on a digital platform the help gardeners succeed by creating a space for learning, inspiration, and organization. Six years ago, they launched the first version of the Gardenize mobile app, and since then they have expanded to 8 languages, and are used all over the world.

Gardenize are based in Sweden and are situated in both Stockholm and Gothenburg and are used to work across long distances. They are now looking for a new addition to their development team - a person to lead and support the team to make the app even better!

Job duties

As a small but rapidly growing company, the Tech Lead shall lead the software team but also develop the vision and focus areas of the development. In close cooperation with Product owner who is responsible for the “WHAT” – You as Tech Lead are responsible for the “HOW”.

The development team consists of 4-5 skilled developers – as Tech Lead you will create the best solutions for the company. In the Gardenize technology stack you will find Java (Android), Swift (iOS), Javascript / React (web application) and PHP & MySQL (back-end systems) hosted in AWS ecosystem.
The responsibilities as a Tech Lead is to set the tech focus for Gardenize and build the right tech-stack. You help team-members with tech challenges and assure that team produces good quality code.

The team is made up out of external consultants, who work with either android, IOS, back or frontend development. You will have contact with them, along with the product owner to create the best results. In the future as the team grows, there might be a possibility to build your own, closer team.

Education, experience and personal traits

• Higher education within web development or app development, or experience with working with your own projects doing this.
• Leadership skills and interest - it is a merit if you have experience in leading a team
• Experience working with a mobile and agile team is a merit
• Experience in working with mobile apps (iOS/Android) as an app-developer or within backend
• Experience of large databases
• It is of great advantage if you have experience i working in a Start-up and if you have an interest in gardeing and the enviroment!

You are a natural leader who takes responsibility for both your team and your own work and projects and you are not afraid to take charge. You are a flexible and social driven person who enjoys working with and supporting and helping your collegues forward.
